Obituary: Abraham, Inez Awilda “Mrs. A”

Age 105

ABRAHAM, Inez Awilda “Mrs. A” (Age 105) June 14, 1907 - December 7, 2012 Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Friday morning, December 7th, 2012.

Awilda was born on June 14, 1907 at her parents, Andrew and Amy Zimmermann’s, farmhouse in Albany, Oregon.

Her fond childhood memories included dancing whenever possible, riding her horse “Totsie”, and walking across the frozen Columbia River with her two older brothers, a daring feat she loved to talk about.

Awilda married Rex McLain Abraham in 1930 in Olympia, WA.

Soon they moved to Port Angeles, WA and spent many memorable moments with friends hiking, beach combing and digging for clams.

Together they raised two daughters.

She especially liked living in Spokane, WA., time spent with family and friends and incredible acquaintances of the many people she met in the family business, 4 Seasons Coffee Co., that enriched her life.

As a strong, independent woman it was by example that she provided life lessons not only to her children but grandchildren.

We, her family, have been truly blessed and honored beyond any measure to have had her as our Mother, friend and “Grams”.

She is survived by her daughters Leslie (Tom) and Susan; five grandchildren Amy (Scott), Peter (Michelle), Jennifer (Jeff), Kevin (Kerrisa), and Kari (Alex); and nine great grandchildren Makenna, Meghan, Navae, Vincent, Paloma, Anja, Beck, Luke, Ezekiel.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the caring staff at Hospice of Spokane for their wonderful support.

A gathering to celebrate her life will be scheduled in the spring for all family members and friends.
