Obituary: Myers, Bonnie Marie

Age 89

MYERS, Bonnie Marie (Age 89) Bonnie Marie (Robin) Myers was born on November 1st, 1923 to Louis J. and Leatha Mae Robin at their home in Olene, Oregon.

She passed away December 12, 2012 in Spokane.

Family was always precious to her and she took pride in her large and connected family.

In 1933, her family moved from Olene to Klamath Falls and she graduated from Klamath Union High School.

She attended the University of Oregon and was a Ducks Cheerleader and a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority.

During World War II, she married her high school sweetheart, Jack L. Myers, a US Air Force gunnery instructor.

She worked at the air base during the war and afterwards they moved to Los Angeles where she helped put Jack through college.

After he completed schooling, Jack and Bonnie returned to Klamath Falls, where she worked at Burlington Railroad.

She loved her career, but she was a family person through and through.

She quit her job when she and Jack adopted their two children, Cliff and Holly.

In 1962, the Myers family moved to Spokane, Washington.

While Bonnie worked throughout her life as a tax preparer, legal secretary, and in the real estate field, she always put her children and her family first.

After Jack’s death in 1990, Bonnie reunited with her close high school friend, Herman (Bud) Steinseifer.

Bud soon moved to Spokane and they shared many wonderful years together.

Bonnie loved to see the world.

She and Bud had the time of their lives traveling to many places together.

She also had many travel adventures with her daughter, Holly and with her good friend, Ardell Easterday.

Bonnie loved a good story had a contagious laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor.

She was always “up” for good food, meeting new people, great music and of course, a dance or two.

She loved playing Scrabble almost nightly with her good friend, Sherrie Hillhouse and sharing many laughs at the bridge table with her buddies from the Spokane Valley Senior Center.

Bonnie had a love for life and, of course, chocolate!

She loved her family and her friends.

She will be missed.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Holly of Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica and her son, Cliff and his wife, LaLoni Myers of Priest Lake, Idaho as well as her nieces Tina Oakley and Stevie Viaene, their respective families and many cousins she also dearly loved the Roses, her “extended family” and her “grandkids”, Michelle and Kelly.

We would like to thank Michelle Rose and Megan Neal as well as Hospice of Spokane for all of their wonderful care and support of Bonnie and her family.

Bonnie’s Celebration of Life will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home.

She will be inurned in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
