Obituary: Scharff, Fern (Mcneill)

SCHARFF, Fern (McNeill) Fern Scharff of Spokane passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children on Saturday, December 15, 2012.

Born March 3, 1918 in Chicago, IL, Fern was raised in McKenzie, ND.

She moved to Spokane shortly before marrying Nick Scharff on September 29, 1939.

Together they raised and are survived by their six children: Larry (Claudia) Scharff, Diane Bettcher, Nick (Lynn) Scharff all of Spokane, Mary Ann Darling of Benton City, Bob Scharff of Post Falls and Rick Scharff of Cusick.

Fern is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A Vigil Service will be held Wednesday, December 19, at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, December 20, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, 1115 W. Riverside Ave. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane, PO Box 2215, Spokane WA 99210-2215 or to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, 1115 W.
