Obituary: Carlon, Elsie Lavella (Devries)

Age 88

CARLON, Elsie LaVella (DeVries) Passed away at her home on December 18 surrounded by family.

LaVella was born on March 15, 1924 in Spokane to William and Elsie Mae DeVries.

She was the third of five children: Adrian, Dorothy, Bill, and Bob.

LaVella’s first marriage was to William Hartman in 1944.

They had two children, Bill and Steve, before William died in 1958.

She then married Gerald Carlon (also a widower) in 1959.

Gerald brought his son Craig to the marriage and then together they had Scott.

LaVella led a dedicated life of devoted caring and service to others and as a result will be remembered by too many to mention.

Among those left behind are her brother Bob, her four sons, two daughters-in-law, Heather and Martha.

Also, a total of 15 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, three of whom carry her beautiful name forward!

LaVella had a strong faith and hope in God.

For those who place their hope in Jesus the Messiah, we will meet again!

Memorial contributions may be made to the Union Gospel Mission, 1224 E. Trent, Spokane, WA 99202.

Funeral service will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, December 26 at Ball and Dodd.
