Obituary: Klundt, Darrell W.

Age 88

KLUNDT, Darrell W. Darrell Klundt longtime resident of Spokane Valley entered into rest Sunday, December 16, 2012 with his caring wife Linda of 26 years by his side along with family and friends in spirit.

Born April 4, 1924 in Pasco, WA.

He was raised on the family farm in Page, WA.

Upon graduating from Pasco High School in 1942 he enlisted in the Marine Corp., serving during WWII with 1st Marine Division, wounded in the battle of Peleliu and received the Purple Heart.

After the war Darrell returned to Page and attended college, farmed and later moved back to Spokane where he had a successful career in sales.

Many years were spent at his summer home on the Pend Oreille River cruising the river each evening on his pontoon boat, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Darrell is preceded in death by his parents Peter Klundt and Emma Kison-Klundt.

He is survived by his wife Linda; son Darin and wife Jean, of Spokane; daughter Dena Picconi of Vancouver, WA; brother Arthur Klundt and wife Celia, Vancouver, WA.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Ben Klundt and wife Lauren, Taylor Klundt and Gabrielle Rossmiller; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by stepchildren Mark Rust, Michael Rust and wife Josie, Michelle Bachilla and Matthew Rust and wife Sabrina; along with step grandchildren Brian, Jordan, Natasha, Sara Rust and Madison and Wyn Bachilla.

We would like to thank all the staff at Spokane Veterans Home for their excellent care and comfort shown to Darrell.
