Attempted run-down earns prison

Associated Press

KALISPELL – A 35-year-old Kalispell man has been sentenced to five years in prison for trying to run over several people after being kicked out of a bar.

Zachariha Dawson was charged after intentionally driving his car at three people in the parking lot of Paddy’s Touchdown Lounge on March 29. He had been kicked out of the bar for causing trouble after bartenders quit serving him alcohol.

The Daily Inter Lake reports Dawson was sentenced Thursday on two counts of felony criminal endangerment and ordered to pay just over $15,000 in restitution.

A bartender and poker dealer told police that after a woman rejected Dawson’s sexual advances, Dawson sped toward the three, forcing them to jump out of the way.

Dawson said he was grateful no one was injured.
