Mars plan a misfire
NASA plans to send another robotic probe to Mars. This will be to further analyze soil for seemingly important reasons. Before cost overruns this will cost billions of dollars. But, to make this more palatable, NASA had decided they might be able to modify the previous robotic explorer rather than redesign a new model.
Why do we keep shoveling monumental amounts of our Chinese money for these seemingly unimportant missions? We can’t populate, plant crops, mine for minerals, or drill for oil. I see no reason to be concerned about a habitable environment on any other planet.
Approximately 50 percent of our citizens are paying taxes to support a runaway economy. A huge portion are out of work, homeless (including military veterans), hungry, and unable to live a normal life.
We continue to allow sacred cows, like NASA, to engage in rampant runaway spending. This is only one of uncountable federal agencies. Common sense tells me that it’s really a matter of prioritizing our government spending.
I’d like to see a can tied to the Sacred Cow’s tail and put it out to pasture.
