Obituary: Law, Roberta “Bobbie”
LAW, Roberta “Bobbie” (Age 94) A longtime Pullman, WA resident and recently of Spokane, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the Guardian Angel Home in Liberty Lake, WA. She was born to Bruce and Almina (Wasson) Moore on September 13, 1918 in Oberlin, KS. Bobbie graduated from Oberlin High School in 1936 and went to Strickler’s Business College in Topeka, Kansas. Following school Bobbie moved to Manhattan, KS where she was employed at the Kansas State Agricultural Extension Offices for three years. She married Alvin G. Law in 1940 in Madison, Wisconsin and they moved to Pullman, WA in 1941 where Alvin accepted an appointment with the Agronomy Department at Washington State University. They made Pullman their home except for two years spent in New Delhi, India and three years in Lesotho, South Africa where Al worked with local farmers while employed with USAID projects. Four years ago Bobbie moved to Spokane to live with her son and daughter-in-law. Bobbie did Red Cross work for many years at the Palouse Hills Nursing Home in Pullman. She was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church and a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She enjoyed knitting, playing bridge and growing and arranging flowers. Bobbie is survived by her daughter Diane Law (Jorge Orejel) of Redmond, WA; her son James Law (Kathy) of Spokane, WA; seven grandchildren: Crystal, Adam, Joshua, Katie, Kelsey, Laura and Alberto and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Al in 2002 and a son Steven Law. The memorial service will be held at Simpson United Methodist Church in Pullman on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 1 PM. Private interment will be held at the Pullman Cemetery. KIMBALL FUNERAL HOME of PULLMAN, WA is caring for the family.
