Obituary: Senter, Robert Roy

Age 79

SENTER, Robert Roy Was born October 1, 1933 in Fredericktown, Missouri to Roy and Ada Senter, the second of eight children.

He passed away at home (Reardan, WA) after a graceful battle with health issues, surrounded by his loving family on December 23, 2012.

He joined the US Air Force at a young age and was transferred to Fairchild Air Force Base where he met his future wife Pat.

They were married for 54 years.

The couple relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, where Bob was hired by Westinghouse Electric as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union and would work there for the following 20 years.

While in St. Louis, Penny, Brian and Barbara joined the family.

In 1979, Bob moved his family back to the Northwest to be near Pat’s family.

After settling in Reardan, WA, Bob was hired by the Reardan Grain Growers as a jack of all trades, often putting his many talents to work in several capacities for the company.

Bob was known for his generosity to all, often giving quietly to help out those in need.

He was a devoted husband and father, always being especially supportive of his children.

He opened his home to those in need on more than one occasion.

He was considered by all to be quietly wise.

Bob loved great music, great movies, fixing a car or anything else that needed it, problem solving, story-telling (he had the best and funniest) and traveling to such far away places as England.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Teen Challenge in Airway Heights, Shriners Hospital, or a charity of choice.

Bob is survived by his wife Patricia at home; Penny (Mark) Tomayko, Brian (Mary) Senter, Barbara (Paul) Baines; and nine grandchildren: Marcus, Darcy, Crystal, Hirut, Owen, Liya, Gus, Ruth and Chase.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Reardan on Monday, December 31st at 10a.m., with a reception following.
