Travis leads balanced Pirates women to win
Emily Travis led four players in double figures with 14 points as the Whitworth women beat Warner Pacific 77-62 in nonconference basketball Saturday night in Spokane.
Lauren Picha had 13 points and eight assists and Jamie Lyons added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Pirates.
Chelsey Christensen tallied a game-high 26 points for Warner Pacific, which fell to 7-7. Whitworth improved its record to 8-2.
• Vanessa Corona scored 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting and Community Colleges of Spokane dumped Northwest Indian College 103-47 at the Skagit Valley tournament in Mt. Vernon, Wash.
Riley Hoslinger (North Central) and Alicia Christiansen (East Valey) added 13 points apiece for the Sasquatch (6-4), who led 60-27 at the half.
• Renae Mokrzycki made 8 of 9 shots and finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds as North Idaho routed Blue Mountain (5-6) 85-42 at the Lower Columbia Classic.
Kabri Emerson had 12 points and Aimee Durbridge chipped in 11 points and seven boards for the Cardinals (15-0), who committed just eight turnovers.
Men
John Fletcher scored 29 points to guide Treasure Valley (6-5) to a 90-84 nonconference win over North Idaho in Coeur d’Alene.
Keon Lewis scored a team-high 18 points for NIC (14-2).
