NFL notes: Cowboys’ DeMarcus Ware will play with some limitations
Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware will wear a brace on his injured right shoulder and his plays will be limited tonight in a do-or-die game at Washington.
The brace will help prevent Ware’s shoulder from popping out when he extends his arm forward. Ware didn’t wear a shoulder brace in last Sunday’s loss to New Orleans. He had to leave the game late in the third quarter and returned for only one play in overtime.
Ware will also continue to wear a brace on his right arm that helps provide support for his hyperextended right elbow.
Ware didn’t practice all week, but he said Friday that he’s going to play. He’s listed as probable.
“We’re going to have to watch how many plays we give him, pick our spots and play our other players,” Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan said. “I know DeMarcus will play his heart out when he’s out there, and we’ll just see how much he’s able to give us.”
The Patriots have activated defensive lineman Jermaine Cunningham and signed wide receiver Kamar Aiken and defensive back Malcolm Williams from the practice squad. The team released defensive lineman Ron Brace. … The Chiefs have put wide receiver Terrance Copper (knee) on injured reserve and elevated wide receiver Junior Hemingway from the practice squad. … Panthers starting defensive end Greg Hardy did not make the trip to New Orleans as he continues to deal with a family matter. … The Lions have put defensive tackle Sammie Hill (foot) on injured reserve and signed defensive lineman Jimmy Saddler-McQueen off the practice squad. … Jets tight end Dustin Keller, wide receiver Chaz Schilens and cornerback Ellis Lankster will not play today at Buffalo.
