Obituary: Bonvallet, Carolyn Elaine
Age 75
She was born in Andrews, IN on May 27, 1937 to Raymond and Shirley Fields.
She is survived by two older brothers, Dr. Richard Fields (Claire) of McLean, VA and James Fields (Joanie) of Evansville, IN.
As the youngest of three children and only daughter, family and friends affectionately referred to her as “Queenie”.
She attended Andrews High School and graduated from Ball Memorial School of Nursing in 1958.
In 1959, she married Dr. James C. Bonvallet in New Orleans, LA.
Carole worked as an operating room nurse in a number of hospitals throughout the country up until 1969 when the family moved to Spokane where she has resided since.
She is survived by her four children, Dr. Scott Bonvallet (Michelle), Woodinville, WA; Dr. Todd Bonvallet (Kristi), Chattanooga, TN; Joel Bonvallet (Dayna), Spokane, WA; and Ashley Shasky (Jim), Spokane, WA.
Her son, Thomas Wayne Bonvallet, preceded her in 1965.
Ten grandchildren, who she adored, as well as numerous nieces and nephews survive her.
Carole was active with the American Heart Association where she organized a number of fundraising events.
She loved fishing, camping, sailing, sewing, tennis, and reading.
For those that knew her, Carole was an incredible cook and loved to entertain friends and family.
She cherished all of her friends and neighbors at Mt.
Vernon Place, outings with the “Fine Ladies” (you know who you are), her camping trips in “Loretta” with Bob and Don and her time with long time friend “T”.
Carole’s “Queenie”, Ashley, was not only her daughter but best friend, companion and partner in crime.
For all of us that crossed paths with Carole, we were often stunned and delighted by her wicked sense of humor.
As Carole’s older brothers would say, “she was fun to be bad with.”
The family would like to say a special thank you to Hospice of Spokane.
At Carole’s request, there will be no memorial service.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Manito Golf and Country Club, January 12, 2013 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Spokane.
