Obituary: Evans, Paul J.

EVANS, Paul J.

(Age 86) Of Badger Lake, Washington, passed away surrounded by his family on Christmas Day.

He had been battling Pulmonary Fibrosis for four years.

Paul was born May 7, 1926 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Paul J Evans Sr. and Jane (Greig) Evans.

Paul was a graduate of Canoga Park High School, CA; class of 1943.

That same year he joined the Navy and was honorably discharged at the end of WWII.

He continued his education at Santa Monica College, CA until 1949 when he joined the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The fire department was always his first love.

He retired as Captain in 1982.

Paul and his wife Ruth moved to Badger Lake, Washington in 1988 where they had built a retirement home.

Paul lived a good life and enjoyed his retirement years.

He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ruth C. Evans.

Sons: John Evans and Bill Evans.

Daughter; Charlene Evans.

Grandsons; Jared Paul Evans, Bill Paul Evans and Paul Joseph Evans.

Granddaughter; Christine Evans.

Thirteen great- grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, or the Los Angeles County Firemen’s Benefit and Welfare Association, 4724 Emerald St., Torrance, CA, 90503 in memory of Paul J. Evans.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013, at CHENEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, Cheney, WA.

Burial will follow at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake,WA.
