Obituary: Rizzuto, Marjorie Ann “Marge” (Beltz)

Age 81

RIZZUTO, Marjorie Ann “Marge” (Beltz) September 4, 1931~ December 22, 2012 With her family by her bedside softly singing “Angels Among Us,” Marge took the beautiful staircase to Heaven where God opened his arms and lovingly welcomed her home.

Marge was born in Hillsboro, North Dakota and came to Spokane, Washington with her parents and siblings.

She attended John Rogers High School and met a young man by the name of Jack Rizzuto from Gonzaga Prep where they became high school sweethearts.

They married on December 20, 1951 and continued their love story for an amazing sixty-one years.

Together they raised five wonderful children.

Marge was a stay at home mom who was an exceptional cook and stirred up love in everything she made.

For many years, the family enjoyed their lake home at Sacheen Lake where Marge was the instigator of many water-fights and a lot of fun and fishing.

She lived each and every day for her family and was so generous with her kind heart and gentle soul for others.

If someone was ill, she would be right there with her homemade soup, other goodies and always a stuffed animal with a band aid on the area where that person (no matter the age) wasn’t feeling well.

Over the years, her passions were entertaining her kids, grandkids and friends in the home that she always loved to decorate with her special touch.

She grew beautiful flowers that surrounded the family pool, golfed and traveled.

Marge was a snowbird with Jack where they left the cold behind and went to their second home in Sun City Arizona.

They graciously opened their “snowbird” home to family and friends who wanted to take the chill off for a few days.

She loved and treasured those visits there and at home in Spokane.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Mildred Beltz, her brother Ted Beltz and sister Eileen Funk.

Marge is survived by her husband Jack; her sister Delores Sharadin, Phyllis Berger; daughters Diane (Larry) Alfano, Judy (Jerry) Mertens, Janet (Dan) Dibler, Mary (Jim) Owen; and one son Ron (Debbie) Rizzuto.

She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

At her request there will be no public service.

Her husband Jack and family request that any memorial contributions be made to Blessings Under the Bridge C/O Janet Dibler, 807 E. Brady Ct., Spokane WA 99208.
