Born June 21, 1922 in Spokane, WA passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 in Spokane WA, after a long series of health issues he faced with humor and quiet resolution.
Bob was unpre-tentious in all aspects of life with the exception of family and friends.
Ann, his loving, dedicated wife of 50 years preceded him in death in 2003.
They were residents of Sun Lakes, AZ, Rockford Bay, ID and Spokane, WA.
He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and special friend to all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters, Karen Montague (Steve) and Nancy Croyle, both of Spokane WA; and brother, William Croyle of Santa Barbara CA; two grandchildren, Leslee Hammer (Corbin) of Everett, WA and Lindsay Miller (Christopher) of Spokane WA; four great-grandchildren, Emerson, Avery, Talon and Baylor; numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and served honorably as the lead radar technician on the USS California during World War II.
After the war, Bob graduated from Gonzaga University with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
In 1953 he married Ann Robinson and began a wonderful journey creating a loving family, developing long lasting friendships and fantastic memories.
Bob pioneered the development of mainframe computers during his career with Philco, General Electric and Honeywell.
Over the years, his expertise took him around the world and he easily made new friends along the way.
His favorite place to enjoy life was at the lake sharing great times with family and friends.
Any day was a good excuse to spend time together, the more the merrier.
A private memorial will be held.
