Wildcats overhaul Pirates, 49-46

Stu Stiles scored 15 points and hit some key free throws down the stretch to help the visiting Mt. Spokane Wildcats rally for a 49-46 victory over the Rogers Pirates in Greater Spokane League boys basketball on Monday.

Jordan Weems added 11 points and Tanner Kissinger scored 10 for the Wildcats, who trailed by six points with two minutes left in the game.

Brandon Ridenhour topped the Pirates (5-12, 4-12) with 12 points, while Steve Delvecchio scored 11.

Mt. Spokane (4-14, 3-13) led 25-22 at the half after trailing by four at the end of one period.

St. Michael’s 72, Columbia 56: Chris Shelley poured in 25 points and Gabe Durazo scored 21 to propel the Warriors (9-11) to victory over the Lions (5-15) in a 1B Northeast play-in game at St. Michael’s.

Dominick Marquez tossed in a game-high 26 points for Columbia, while Dustin Wyborney chipped in with 17 points.

St. Michael’s heads to Wellpinit tonight for a District 7 1B first-round tilt.

Girls

Mt. Spokane 57, Rogers 23: Brooke Reilly and Alyssa Lloyd combined to score 29 points and the visiting Mt. Spokane Wildcats (6-12, 5-11) held the Rogers Pirates (1-17, 0-16) scoreless in the second quarter en route to victory in Greater Spokane League play.

St. Maries 36, Kellogg 31 (OT): Kerstin Auer and Dusti Huddleston combined for 18 points, including the only five points scored in overtime, and the Lumberjacks (6-13) held off the Wildcats (9-11) in Idaho 3A District I play in Lakeland. Next up for St. Maries is Priest River at 6 tonight in Lakeland.

Inchelium 53, Valley Christian 36: Maraia Zacherle scored 13 to lead four players in double figures and the Hornets (8-11) topped the host Panthers (5-12) in a 1B Northeast play-in game.

Inchelium plays at Columbia on Wednesday.

North Idaho Christian 35, Kootenai 27: Kana Shanley scored 12 to lead NIC past the host Warriors (3-12) in nonleague play.
