Light snow showers not likely to last long

Light snow falling over Spokane late this morning is not likely to cause any accumulation, forecasters said. Tiny crystals were fluttering to the ground shortly after 11 a.m. National Weather Service radar showed several narrow bands of precipitation in the region, including one over the city. Today’s forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of rain or snow with a high near 41. Lows tonight should reach about 29. Patchy fog is possible tonight. Snow today is the first in a series of weak disturbances expected over the next week as strong high pressure along the West Coast weakens. Rain is possible later this week and even some snow by Friday night. Highs should be in the 40s with lows in the 30s.
