Art show, auction at Interplayers

RIVERSIDE – Interplayers Theatre, 174 S. Howard St., will host “For the love of ART,” a juried art exhibit and silent auction from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 16.

The event will feature local entertainers including sopranos Dawn Wolski and Renei Yarrow, Abbey Crawford singing swing, Jim Ryan on keyboard, actor-singer Tamara Schupman, and Bruce Pennell’s jazz trio.

Lunch to benefit children’s hospital

RIVERSIDE – The seventh annual Kids at Heart Lunch to benefit the Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital will be at the Spokane Convention Center, 334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd., at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 22.

NFL quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Mark Rypien of Spokane will be the featured speaker at the event. Rypien lost his 3-year-old son to cancer and will share his story about turning that tragedy into a legacy.

Proceeds from the lunch will benefit the emergency department expansion project at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital. The annual fundraiser has raised over $500,000 for the children’s hospital over the past six years.
