‘Iron Man’ Downey has another junior

Fri., Feb. 10, 2012

Robert Downey Jr. and wife Susan have welcomed a baby boy, Exton Elias Downey.

Exton clocked in at 7:24 a.m. Tuesday in Los Angeles, weighing 7 pounds, 5 ounces and measuring 20 inches long, according to various reports.

The “Iron Man” star had joked with Jay Leno in December that the pregnancy had “been tougher on me” than on his wife. “Just the hormones and the moods stuff and the nausea, and the whole thing.”

Though this is a first child for Robert and Susan, little Exton already has a big brother: Indio Downey, 18, the “Sherlock Holmes” actor’s son from his marriage to Deborah Falconer. The actor married Susan, a producer, in August 2005.

Downey will be seen this May in “The Avengers” and next year in “Iron Man 3.”

Naomi Watts to play Princess Di

Producers say Naomi Watts will play Princess Diana in a film about the last years of the royal’s life.

Britain’s Ecosse Films says “Caught in Flight” will focus on the two years before Diana’s death in a Paris car crash in August 1997.

It is directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, best known for his film about Hitler’s last days, “Downfall.”

Filmmakers said Thursday the biopic “charts how finding true personal happiness for the first time” allowed Diana to find her role as “a major international campaigner and humanitarian.”

The Australia-raised Watts received an Academy Award nomination for “21 Grams.”

Filming will begin later this year.

Simmons to Cuomo: Milk is un-hip-hop

Music mogul Russell Simmons wants New York’s governor to pull the plug on milk from cows.

The hip-hop impresario writes in a letter to Andrew Cuomo that milk should no longer be the state’s official beverage.

Simmons, a vegan who has taken on several animal rights causes with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, says milk from cows is less healthy than milk from rice, almonds or soy.

Simmons and Cuomo go way back. They’re both from Queens, and they worked together a decade ago to help soften New York’s strict drug laws.

Cuomo spokesman Matt Wing said the governor’s office would not comment.
