Ryan scores 33 as Eastern rips Weber in women’s basketball

Brianne Ryan tied a career high with 33 points, her fourth game of 30-plus points this season, in leading the Eagles (16-9, 10-2) over the Wildcats (2-22, 0-11) on Thursday night in Cheney for their sixth consecutive Big Sky Conference women’s basketball victory.

Weber State attempted 21 3-point attempts, making just four.

Ryan hit all five of her 3-point attempts as the Eagles remained a half-game behind Idaho State.

EWU and Idaho State have already clinched berths in the Big Sky tournament.

Oregon State 51, Washington State 39: Thais Pinto scored 12 points and the Beavers (16-7, 7-5 Pac-12) defeated the Cougars (10-14, 4-8) in Pullman despite making just 1 of 24 3-point shots.

Sage Romberg led WSU with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Cougars hit only 4 of 24 3-pointers and shot 12 percent from the field in the second half. They led by four at the half.

Washington 72, Oregon 69: Jazmine Davis led all scorers with 27 points, helping the Huskies (13-9, 5-7) hang on for a Pac-12 win over the Ducks (13-11, 5-7) in Seattle.

Idaho 62, New Mexico State 59 (OT): Sophomore Alyssa Charlston hits a tying 3-pointer with 6.1 seconds left in regulation and Keri Arendse hit another 3, the only field goal in overtime, as the Vandals defeated the Aggies in Moscow, Idaho, for their third straight Western Athletic Conference victory.

Kelsie Rozendaal had hit a 3-pointer with 22 seconds left in regulation to give New Mexico State (5-8, 2-6) a 58-55 lead. Following a timeout, Vandal Stacey Barr found Charlston in the corner for the tying shot.

The teams combined for eight missed shots in the overtime but Arendse’s 3-pointer with 1:35 gave Idaho (8-15, 3-5) the win.

Charlston led the Vandals with 17 points.

North Idaho 78, Colorado Northwestern 44: Leading by nine at half, the Cardinals (18-4, 7-2) outscored the Spartans (9-14, 0-9) 39-14 in the second half en route to the Scenic West Athletic Conference victory at home to snap a two-game losing streak.

The Cardinals had five players in double figures, led by Hannah Love with 13 points.
