Beyonce, Jay-Z share bundle of joy

Blue Ivy Carter
From Wire Reports

She’s been a sensation since she’s been born, and now Blue Ivy has made her public debut.

Five photos of the 1-month-old were posted by her parents – Beyonce and Jay-Z – on a page at the blogging service Tumblr.

The pictures at helloblueivycarter .tumblr.com include a close-up of the baby and two of each parent holding her. Blue Ivy is their first child.

A statement next to the photos reads, “We welcome you to share our joy.” The couple also thanked the public for respecting their privacy.

‘Heart’-felt praise for Bennett

San Francisco is honoring legendary crooner Tony Bennett, whose famous song, “I Left My Heart in San Francisco,” was recorded 50 years ago.

Mayor Ed Lee, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Rep. Nancy Pelosi are among those expected to attend a ceremony for Bennett in the City Hall Rotunda at noon on Tuesday, Valentine’s Day.

The event will include renditions of “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” by the San Francisco Boys and Girls Choruses and the San Francisco Symphony, among others.

The song will also be broadcast at noon over the public address system in Union Square and Hallidie Plaza.

Trump: Wind farm out of bounds

Donald Trump has launched a blistering attack on Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond over plans to build a wind farm off the coast of his luxury Scottish golf resort.

In an open letter, the New York real estate tycoon calls the wind farm “horrendous” and says Salmond is “hell bent on destroying Scotland’s coast line and therefore Scotland itself.”

Niall Stuart, chief executive of Scottish Renewables, which represents the wind farm industry, reacted with anger Friday to Trump’s intervention. “Who is Donald Trump to tell Scotland what is good for our economy or environment?” Stuart said in a statement.

Salmond is refusing to comment on the spat with Trump, which comes just four years after the businessman heaped praise on him for supporting his golf resort despite local objections.
