“Thin” - This HBO documentary film takes us inside the walls of Renfrew Center, a residential facility for the treatment of women with eating disorders, closely following four 15- to 30-year-old women who have spent much of their lives starving themselves – often to the verge of death. The film deftly chronicles the pervasiveness of disordered eating behaviors, as well as the failure of our current health-insurance industry to address its clients’ needs while never shifting focus from the women themselves. Sponsored by EWU Women’s Studies Center. Tuesday, noon-2 p.m. Eastern Washington University, Monroe Hall, Room 207, Cheney. Free. (509) 359-2898.

SFCC Planetarium - Two shows will be presented each Friday, at 5:30 and 7 p.m. There are four shows that rotate throughout the month. Three of the shows will begin with an introduction to observing the seasonal night sky. The presenter will show which planets, stars and constellations can be seen during the current night sky. The second part of these shows will feature a movie that plays over the entire surface of the dome. The fourth show does not feature a full-dome movie. This show will feature a guided tour of the night sky, demonstrating the location of stars and constellations visible throughout the year. Fort George Wright Drive. $6/adults; $3/CCS students and those under 18. (509) 533-3569.
