Hot-shooting Moses Lake Christian eliminates Wellpinit

The Wellpinit Redskins couldn’t overcome a hot-shooting start by the Moses Lake Christian Lions.

Moses Lake Christian shot 63 percent from the floor in the first half and it was too much for the Redskins to overcome in a 63-51 1B regional boys basketball game Friday at Shadle Park High School.

Moses Lake Christian advances to state, beginning Thursday at the Spokane Arena.

The Redskins (19-7) shot 30 percent from the floor in the first half.

Moses Lake Christian put the game out of reach in the third, outscoring Wellpinit 19-10.

Four of six players scored in double figures for Moses Lake Christian. Lowell Kirkwood led with 18 points and eight rebounds. Greg Wynecoop led Wellpinit with 19 and AJ Kieffer had 13 and 12 rebounds.
