• Whitworth University has elected John Sowers to its board of trustees. Sowers, a senior pastor and head of staff at First Presbyterian Church of Spokane, graduated from the university in 1988 and previously worked for the admissions department.

Finance

• Mountain West Bank has hired Kathy Colkitt and Rebecca Starr as mortgage loan originators.

Sheriff Daryl Wheeler received an Idaho Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certificate. Wheeler has served as sheriff of Bonner County since 2008.

Health care

Dr. Brian “B.C.” Oulman has joined Broadway Eyecare Center in Spokane Valley as an optometric physician. He holds a degree from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Optometry, with honors in the Pediatric and Binocular Vision section and specialty training in glaucoma.

Edward Wagner has been elected board president of the Idaho Association of Building Officials. Wagner is director of Coeur d’Alene Building Services.

• Windermere North has hired Rust Brown and Russ Knight as associates. Brown previously worked for Pfizer/King Pharmaceuticals and Knight previously worked for Prudential Spokane Real Estate.

Jim Dashiell has been hired as an agent for Williams Realty Spokane. He previously worked for Coldwell Banker Tomlinson North.
