THIBAULT, Marcella Claire
(Miller)

Our loving Mom passed away peacefully in Spokane on February 17; just two months shy of her 96th birthday.

Marcella was born on April 17, 1916 to John and Lucy Miller in Detroit,
MI.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jean B. Thibault, sisters Bernadette and Frances and brothers Jack and Jerry.

She is survived by her children John of Bellingham, WA, Michael of Ferndale, WA, Larry of Spokane and daughter Mary Akiyama (John) of Kirkland, WA and grandchildren Heather Thibault and Emily and Connor Akiyama.

She is also survived by her brother, Fr.

James R. Miller of Arlington, TX.

Marcella attended Holy Redeemer School and then St. Henry’s High School in Detroit, MI.

In 1937 she began Nurses training at Grace Hospital in Detroit, earning her RN in 1940.

She met Jean Thibault in the fall of 1943 and they were married October 10, 1944.

They moved to Seattle, WA in October of 1945 where sons John and Michael were born.

A move for Jean’s business brought them to their final home, Spokane in 1952 where son Larry and daughter Mary were born.

Marcella became very active in St. Charles Parish with the Altar Society, teaching CCD for 10 years, joining Study Club and later helping start their Senior Center.

After a 25 year hiatus, she returned to Nursing in 1969 and worked at Sacred Heart Hospital and several Dr’s offices in the area.

She then joined Jean at his business, the Fryer Ford Co. as his assistant until Jean sold his business and retired in 1978.

Marcella and Jean then spent quality time together travelling the country visiting friends and family and taking the trip of their dreams to France in 1980.

Marcella will be fondly remembered by many friends and family.

A Memorial service for Marcella will be held on Sunday, March 4th at 1:00 pm at SGI-USA Buddhist Community Center, 8019 W. Sunset Hwy.
