Hathaway scores 24 as Shadle girls top Ferris

It’s the kind of breakout game that Shadle Park senior Aleisha Hathaway has been waiting for.

The three-year starter and four-year letterman scored a season-high 24 points to go with 14 rebounds as the Highlanders (4-4 overall, 3-3 league) knocked off the visiting Ferris Saxons (3-5, 1-5) 60-48 in Greater Spokane League girls basketball action Tuesday.

Hathaway had been slowed early by an ankle injury and illness. But she got well over the holiday break.

Shadle broke away from the Saxons in the fourth quarter by outscoring Ferris 21-11.

Kaycee Hert added 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Brittney Johnson led Ferris with 17 points and Cassidy Phillips added 10.

Central Valley 58, North Central 46: The league-leading and top-ranked Bears (8-0, 6-0) outscored the visiting Indians (2-6, 2-4) 15-3 in the deciding third quarter.

Brooke Gallaway led CV with 25 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Freshman Madison Hovren had 15 points and 12 rebounds and Katie Estey had 10 points.

Hailey Markham-Patti led NC with 14 points and Briana King had 11.

Mead 44, Mt. Spokane 38: The visiting Wildcats (3-5, 2-4) had too deep of a hole to dig out of in the second half.

The Panthers (3-5, 3-3) opened a 27-11 halftime lead. Mt. Spokane pulled within two late but couldn’t take the lead.

Jade Redmon led Mead with 12 points and Mackenzie McPhee had 12 rebounds. Alyssa Lloyd led the Wildcats with 12 points.

Gonzaga Prep 59, University 55 (OT): The Bullpups (7-1, 5-1) had to rally to force overtime before stopping the Titans (6-2, 4-2) at U-Hi.

Otiona Gildon led G-Prep, scoring all 15 of her points in the second half. Cassie Anderson had 15 points and Laura Stockton added 10.

Hallie Gennett led U-Hi with 19 points and six rebounds.
