Vandals lose to UND

The Idaho Vandals rallied to within four points in the final two minutes but fell to North Dakota 78-68 at Moscow on Tuesday night in a nonconference women’s basketball game.

The Vandals (5-10) trailed by 20 points with 9:42 remaining before staging the furious rally.

This was the third time the teams played this season. Idaho won 53-50 last Saturday in Missoula. North Dakota (7-8) beat Idaho by 30 at Grand Forks, N.D., in November.

Keri Arendse led UI with 16 points. Stacey Barr had 15 and Alyssa Charlston 13.

KIJHL hockey

Dallas Calvin’s hat trick led the Beaver Valley Nighthawks (28-6-0-1) to a 9-2 win over the Spokane Braves (15-19-1-0) in a KIJHL game in Fruitvale, B.C.
