Northwest Christian rallies past Colfax

Dakota Winward scored 20 points and made 7 of 8 fourth-quarter free throws as Northwest Christian pulled away in the final period and kept its perfect record intact with a 63-52 Bi-County 2B League win Friday night at Colfax.

Austin Friedly added 12 points for the Crusaders (11-0, 7-0), who outscored the Bulldogs 21-8 in the fourth to take control. Northwest Christian made 11 of its 16 free-throw attempts in the fourth to seal the win.

Justin Berarducci scored a game-high 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for Colfax (7-3, 5-1).

St. George’s 54, Davenport 49: Mark Kenney made four free throws in the final minute to help the Dragons (6-3, 4-1) topple the visiting Gorillas (7-3, 4-3). Will Tender led St. George’s with 20 points and nine rebounds. Cole Evers and Joey Gunning combined for 30 points for Davenport.

Reardan 63, Liberty 57: Trevor Peone scored 20 points to lead the Indians (5-6, 4-3) to the win over the host Lancers (4-6, 2-5). Liberty’s Dylan Salsbury tallied a game-high 21 points.

Great Northern League

Cheney 58, West Valley 42: C.J. Skillingstad scored 11 points and Eric Igbinoba and Jon Miller added 10 apiece as the Blackhawks (6-3, 1-0) started well and cruised past the visiting Eagles (8-1, 1-1). Cheney led 18-6 after the first quarter. Jordan Gassman scored a game-high 14 points for West Valley.

Pullman 68, Deer Park 42: Corey Langerveld and Brady Barrett scored 17 points apiece as the Greyhounds (9-1, 2-0) came alive in the second half and routed the host Stags (4-6, 0-2). Pullman had a 45-20 advantage in rebounds and committed just eight turnovers. The Stags were led by Blake Starbucks’ 15 points.

East Valley 45, Medical Lake 34: J.T. Phelan had 16 points and 10 rebounds and James Brown added 13 points and 11 boards as the Knights (7-3, 1-1) pulled away to beat the visiting Cardinals (4-6, 1-1). Adam Paulson scored 16 points for Medical Lake.

Northeast A League

Chewelah 56, Lakeside 54: Ben Johnstone led three players in double figures with 15 points and the Cougars (9-3, 1-1) held on to beat the Eagles (6-6, 1-1) in Nine Mile Falls. Conner Moffatt and Demetrius Watson combined to score 25 points for Lakeside, which missed out on the win despite outscoring Chewelah 16-10 in the final quarter.

Newport 53, Freeman 52: Jake Wiley exploded for 37 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks as the Grizzlies (8-3, 2-0) edged the visiting Scotties (6-6, 1-1). Mitch Vander Linden scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Derek Harter added 10 points and 17 rebounds for Newport.

Colville 41, Riverside 28: J.R. Henry scored 12 points and Matt Hubbard added 11 points and 15 boards as the Indians (7-6, 1-1) beat the visiting Rams (4-8, 0-2). Jordan Wood scored 22 points – including 13 in the fourth – to lead Riverside.

Bi-County 1B League

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 68, Wilbur-Creston 44: Derek Isaak scored 30 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Warriors (9-1, 1-0) beat the visiting Wildcats (4-4, 0-1). Thunder Wellhausen added 16 points and seven boards for Almira/Coulee-Hartline.

Valley Christian 67, Odessa-Harrington 56: Craver Small tallied a game-high 23 points to lead the Panthers (9-1, 1-0) to a win over the host Titans (5-4, 0-1). Stetson Sanford scored 19 points and Justin Hunt added 13 for Odessa-Harrington.

Panorama League

Northport 65, Cusick 62: Jeremiah Johnson hit a 3 at the buzzer to give the Mustangs (10-1, 6-0) the come-from-behind victory over the host Panthers (3-7, 2-2). Northport made its way back into the game after falling behind 18-3 in the opening quarter. Freshman Alec Bluff had 28 points and 11 rebounds for Cusick.

Wellpinit 72, Selkirk 47: The Redskins (6-5, 5-0) opened the third quarter on a 22-0 run and routed the visiting Rangers (4-8, 4-2). Greg Wynecoop scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and A.J. Kieffer blocked eight shots to lead Wellpinit.

Southeast 1B League

Pomeroy 61, Tekoa-Oakesdale 46: Mitch Ruchert scored 17 points and the Pirates (5-4, 3-2) beat the visiting Nighthawks (1-8, 0-5). Max Mueller tallied a game-high 29 points for Tekoa-Oakesdale.

St. John-Endicott 62, LaCrosse-Washtucna 55: Cole McCanna scored 18 points to lead the Eagles (6-3, 5-0) to a win over the host Nighthawks (4-6, 2-3). Evan Jones tossed in 12 points and Dakota White added 10 for St. John-Endicott. Jed Zimmer led LaCrosse-Washtucna with 13 points.

Colton 66, Rosalia 39: Dustin Patchen scored 18 points and Jake Straughan added 17 as the Wildcats (8-1, 5-0) routed the visiting Spartans (6-4, 3-2). Colton took control in the third, outscoring Rosalia 25-8.

Garfield-Palouse 60, Touchet 30: The Vikings (2-7, 2-3) stormed ahead by 18 points in the first quarter and crushed the visiting Indians (3-5, 0-5). Jesse Lopez scored 16 points and Wyatt Mitchell and Tyson Lowley added 12 apiece for Garfield-Palouse.

Central Washington 2B

Lake Roosevelt 63, Brewster 50: Ty Egbert had 23 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks to lead the Raiders past the visiting Bears at Coulee Dam. Brewster’s Easton Driessen led all scorers with 31 points.

Nonleague

Priest River 64, Kettle Falls 41: The Spartans (4-6) jumped ahead early and cruised past the visiting Bulldogs (2-8). Dalton Sommer and Cole Stelow scored 12 points apiece to lead Priest River. Luke Beardslee scored 10 points for Kettle Falls.

Timberlake 62, Coeur d’Alene Charter 52: Keegan Scott and Trevor Masterson combined for 26 points as the Tigers (7-4) jumped ahead early and beat the visiting Panthers (6-5) at Spirit Lake. Coeur d’Alene Charter’s Bryan Smith hit five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 30 points.

Curlew 55, Inchelium 40: Doug Herrmann scored 16 points to lead the Cougars (2-8) past the host Hornets (0-9). Jamie Zerck and Jazz Brisbane added 11 points apiece for Curlew. Sam LeaderCharge tallied a team-high 11 points for Inchelium.

Columbia 35, Republic 26: Dominick Marquez scored 16 points and Dustin Wyborney added 11 – nine coming in the fourth – as the Lions (2-8) topped the visiting Tigers (1-11). Saxon Brown led Republic with 11 points.
