Send kin to wars

I believe it’s time for the states of America to call for a constitutional convention for the purpose of amending the U.S. Constitution. We, the people, should insist on an amendment that will create a Congressional Combat Battalion consisting of relatives to the president, congresspersons and senators. This battalion is to be Army- or Marine Corps-trained in modern ground warfare using small arms and hand-to-hand combat.

When the president or Congress determines military force is to be utilized in a foreign country, this Congressional Combat Battalion should be alerted and dispatched to the war zone. They shall be the first boots on the ground and the last troops to be returned home at the end of hostilities.

There shall be no deferments or exceptions for those physically fit to serve. Their term of service shall last as long as their relatives serve as elected government members. This also includes relatives serving on the Supreme Court.

Perhaps the forming of this Congressional Combat Battalion will act as a deterrent to war and an encouragement toward negotiations and diplomacy.
