A driver struck a woman and her two children with his car in downtown Spokane this evening.
Paramedics transported the woman to Deaconess Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of a leg injury. The children, whose ages are unknown, did not report any injuries and were checked out at the scene by paramedics. However, they will be reevaluated at Deaconess.
Police say the driver, an 82-year-old man, was northbound on Lincoln Street and was turning left onto Second Avenue on a green light when he hit the pedestrians. The pedestrians were southbound on Lincoln and crossing Second Avenue in the crosswalk, with a walk light.
Spokane police are investigating and did not know tonight whether the driver would be cited.
