East Valley fends off West Valley

Alex Rankin’s layin with 25 seconds left gave East Valley a four-point cushion and the Knights held on to beat West Valley 34-33 in a Great Northern League game Friday night at West Valley.

Aaliyah Ashley-Meek hit a 3-pointer on the ensuing posession to bring West Valley within a point, but that’s how the game would end. Ashley-Meek finished with a team-high 12 points for the Eagles (3-8, 0-4).

Erin Wallman scored 10 points for East Valley (7-5, 3-1), which remains in third place in the GNL behind Deer Park and Clarkston.

Clarkston 45, Pullman 37: The Bantams (10-1, 4-0) raced out to a comfortable lead and held off a second-half rally by the host Greyhounds (4-8, 2-3) in a win. Jamie Weisner scored a game-high 21 points for the Bantams, who led 26-12 at halftime. Emily Drake led Pullman with 12 points.

Cheney 54, Medical Lake 26: Destinee Lake scored 17 points and Allie Brown added 12 as the Blackhawks (5-7, 2-2) took control in the second quarter and beat the visiting Cardinals (1-12, 0-5). Sabrina Earle led Medical Lake with nine points.

IEL 5A

Lewiston 48, Lake City 29: The Bengals (14-2, 3-1) took control in the third quarter and beat the Timberwolves (9-8, 0-4) in Coeur d’Alene. Chelsea Waters scored 16 points and Tisha Phillips added 12 for Lewiston, which outscored Lake City 18-5 in the third quarter to take a 15-point lead into the fourth. Lake City was led by Jansen Butler’s eight points.

Northeast A League

Freeman 56, Lakeside 30: Alyssa Maine tallied a game-high 21 points and Molly McIntyre grabbed eight rebounds as the undefeated Scotties (15-0, 5-0) built an 18-point first-half lead and cruised past the visiting Eagles (8-7, 3-2). Jenna Widman and Tayler Flemming combined for 21 points for Lakeside.

Newport 47, Riverside 28: The Grizzlies used a 10-2 third-quarter run to take control and Newport (10-4, 2-3) beat the visiting Rams (6-9, 1-4). Taylor Lewis had 12 points, 12 rebounds and five assists and Miranda Frederick added nine points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Grizzlies. Courtney Davis led Riverside with 12 points.

Colville 60, Chewelah 26: The Indians (9-5, 4-1) jumped ahead early and whipped the host Cougars (2-13, 0-5). Tasha Luu had 16 points for Colville, which led by 19 points at halftime. Chewelah was led by Sydnie Katzer’s nine points.

Bi-County 2B League

Colfax 32, St. George’s 27: Amelie Bruya tossed in 11 points as the Bulldogs (6-5, 5-2) slid past the host Dragons (4-8, 3-5). Alex Wert scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for St. George’s.

Northwest Christian 68, Kettle Falls 30: Hannah Dietzen and Treasure Farmer combined for 35 points as the Crusaders (11-2, 8-1) dumped the host Bulldogs (3-10, 2-7). Serena Pounds tallied a team-high six points for Kettle Falls, which trailed by 18 points at halftime.

Springdale 49, Liberty 34: The visiting Chargers (4-8, 4-4) started the game on a 14-2 run and breezed to a victory over the Lancers (0-12, 0-9). Sprindale’s Mikala Presho led a balanced attack with 10 points. Brittany Breidenbach, Aly Tee and Mikayla Cornwall all had eight points for Liberty.

Bi-County 1B League

Odessa-Harrington 60, Wilbur-Creston 45: Jessie Whitaker scored 18 points as the Titans (4-8, 2-1) built a 21-point first-half lead and beat the host Wildcats (3-7, 0-2). Cydnee Kieffer had 11 points and Kendall Todd chipped in 10 for Odessa-Harrington. Kaelee Reed scored a team-high 16 points for Wilbur-Creston.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 75, St. Michael’s 18: Kelsey Streeter led three players in double figures with 19 points as Almira/Coulee-Hartline (10-2, 3-0) ran away from host St. Michael’s (3-6, 0-1). Karlee Wilson had 14 points and Madeline Isaak chipped in 13 for ACH.

Colton 56, Garfield-Palouse 15: The unbeaten Wildcats (12-0, 7-0) held the visiting Vikings (6-4, 3-4) to just two first-half points and eased to the win. Paige Vincent scored 17 points and Jenna Moser added 16 for Colton.

Panorama League

Wellpinit 65, Curlew 30: Kyra Antone and Imani Antone combined for 27 points as the Redskins (5-8, 4-4) dominated from the get-go and routed the host Cougars (2-11, 0-6). Curlew was led by Lindsey Gibson’s 13 points.

Selkirk 41, Inchelium 35: The Rangers (12-3, 6-2) rallied back in the fourth after giving up the lead and beat the visiting Hornets (6-6, 2-5). Courtney Holter scored 11 points and Georgie Shafer and Annie Couch added 10 points apiece for Selkirk. Inchelium got a game-high 15 points from Maraia Zacherle.

Columbia 65, Cusick 25: The Lions (14-1, 8-0) forced the host Panthers (7-5, 3-3) into 35 turnovers and cruised to the easy win. Lindsay Loe scored 18 points and Krista Colvin added 16 for Columbia.

Southeast 1B League

Tekoa-Oakesdale 65, Touchet 26: Kimberly Groom and Mattie Jo Johnson combined for 29 points as the Nighthawks (8-4, 5-2) raced out to a 31-point first-half lead and stormed past the visiting Indians (4-7, 1-6). Touchet was led by Kristen Warner’s 10 points.

Rosalia 49, LaCrosse-Washtucna 16: Briann Maley hit 5 of 9 3-pointers and finished with 23 points to lead the Spartans (11-2, 6-1) past the visiting Tigercats (2-11, 1-6). Mackenzie Reddish added 13 points for Rosalia.

Central Wash. 2B

Lake Roosevelt 56, Oroville 50: Dominque Pleasants made 8 of 11 shots and finished with 19 points as the Raiders (7-3) edged the Hornets in Coulee Dam. Jade Desautal added six assists and three steals for Lake Roosevelt. Naomi Peters scored 13 of her game-high 22 points in the second half for Oroville.

Nonleague

Republic 47, Northport 34: Brianna Brown had 18 points, 10 rebounds and seven steals as the Tigers (10-5) beat the visiting Mustangs (1-12). Republic led by 30 points heading into the fourth. Kassie Guglielmino had 17 points and Marissa Gilmore added 13 for Northport.
