Clarkston girls take over first place
Jamie Weisner led three players in double figures with 16 points Saturday and Clarkston took over sole possession of first place in the Great Northern League with a 61-47 win over visiting Deer Park.
Sierra Higheagle had 14 points and Emily Gleason added 10 for Clarkston.
The Stags were led by Tessa Heins’ 18 points.
Clarkston improved to 11-1 overall and 5-0 in the GNL. Deer Park fell to 8-5 and 4-1.
East Valley 39, Cheney 37: The Knights (8-5, 4-1) rallied in the fourth and edged the visiting Blackhawks (5-8, 2-3). Erin Wallman had 10 points and nine rebounds to lead East Valley.
Alli Brown tossed in a game-high 17 points – including 12 in the third quarter – for Cheney.
West Valley 52, Medical Lake 41: The Eagles (4-8, 1-4) took control in the fourth and beat the host Cardinals (1-13, 0-6). Natalie Noble and Aaliyah Ashley-Meek combined for 33 points for West Valley, which grabbed 22 offensive rebounds. Medical Lake was led by Nicole Petersen’s 10 points and Sabrina Earle’s 14 rebounds.
Inland Empire League 4A
Moscow 38, Lakeland 33: Taylor Anderson scored 11 points and Brooke Sprenger added 10 as the Bears (8-9, 4-0) slid past the visiting Hawks (9-8, 1-2). Darby Murray and Keelani Duffey scored eight points apiece to lead Lakeland.
Priest River 55, Timberlake 25: Liz Halcro had 18 points, six blocks and five rebounds and Jill Weimer added 10 points, 10 rebounds and five assists as the Spartans (9-4, 3-0) whipped the visiting Tigers (6-7, 2-2).
Priest River held Timberlake scoreless in the fourth.
Kellogg 54, St. Maries 41: The Wildcats (8-6, 2-2) dominated the fourth quarter and raced past the visiting Lumberjacks (4-8, 0-3). Down by six points at the end of the third, Kellogg outscored St. Maries 22-3 in the final quarter. Kelsey Carter had 15 points and five rebounds for Kellogg. Kaytrin Thaut and Dusti Huddleston combined for 24 points for St. Maries.
Bi-County 2B League
Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 50, Davenport 41: Jenna Bennett scored 14 points and passed out four assists as the Broncos (7-5, 4-5) topped the visiting Gorillas (6-6, 4-5). Davenport’s Miranda Mielke scored 28 points.
Colfax 54, Springdale 12: The Bulldogs (7-5, 6-2) opened the game on a 20-0 run and whipped the host Chargers (4-9, 4-5). Elizabeth Hatley and Amelie Bruya combined for 29 points for Colfax.
Bi-County 1B League
Odessa-Harrington 50, St. Michael’s 29: Chelsea Fisher scored 16 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Titans (5-8, 3-1) past the visiting Warriors (3-7, 0-2). Becky Raynor scored a team-high 11 points for St. Michael’s.
Wilbur-Creston 41, Valley Christian 35: Kaelee Reed scored 13 points as the Wildcats (4-7, 1-2) edged the host Panthers (4-7, 0-2). Wilbur-Creston outscored Valley Christian 11-3 in the first quarter. Kaelee Reed led Wilbur-Creston with 13 points.
Columbia 61, Curlew 13: The Lions (15-1, 9-0) forced the visiting Cougars (2-12, 0-7) into 31 turnovers and cruised to the win at Hunters. Mackenzie Parrow scored 17 points and Lindsay Loe and Payton McCrea-Wynne added 13 apiece for Columbia. The Lions’ Krista Colvin had nine assists and nine steals.
Cusick 60, Inchelium 50: Haley Adams led three players in double figures with 15 points and the Panthers (8-5, 4-3) topped the host Hornets (6-7, 2-6). Cusick outscored Inchelium 29-14 in the second and third quarters. Olivia Williams tallied a game-high 30 points for the Hornets.
Southeast 1B League
Tekoa-Oakesdale 59, St. John-Endicott 47: Alexa Lindgren led three players in double figures with 14 points as the Nighthawks (9-4, 6-2) took control in the third and stormed past the host Eagles (6-5, 4-4). Mattie Jo Johnson had 12 points and Alex Overton chipped in 11 for Tekoa-Oakesdale, which outscored St. John-Endicott 21-6 in the third. Jade Porubek, Devan Bafus and Emily Jones all had 10 points for the Eagles.
Garfield-Palouse 44, LaCrosse-Washtucna 22: The Vikings (7-4, 4-4) took control in the third and cruised past the host Tigercats (2-12, 1-7). Kaycie Adair scored 15 points and Taylor Redman added 14 for Garfield-Palouse.
Rosalia 67, Touchet 29: Mackenzie Reddish had 20 points and 10 assists as the Spartans (12-2, 7-1) routed the visiting Indians (4-8, 1-7). Briann Maley added 18 points for Rosalia, which forced 44 Touchet turnovers.
Colton 76, Pomeroy 12: Haley Moser scored 21 points and Payton Meyer added 15 as the Wildcats (13-0, 8-0) dominated the visiting Pirates (2-9, 1-7). Colton led by 38 points at halftime.
Kootenai 51, Post Falls freshman 35: Kristen Scheffelmaier scored 10 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as the Warriors (2-7) beat the visiting Post Falls freshmen at Harrison.
Almira/Coulee-Hartline 67, Moses Lake Christian 33: Kodi Noggles scored 17 points and Madeline Isaak added 12 points and nine assists as the visiting Warriors (11-2) defeated the Lions. Miranda Porterfield added 11 points for ACH, which led 36-20 at halftime.
