Mead wrestlers place second

MISSOULA – Mead’s Jeremy Golding, Chandler Rogers and Jordan Rogers all won individual titles as the Panthers took second place at the Rocky Mountain Classic Saturday at Sentinel High School.

Great Falls won the team title. Glacier was third, followed by Havre, Corvallis, Bozeman, University and Central Valley. Coeur d’Alene was 13th and Bonners Ferry was 14th.

Golding took the title at 145 pounds, beating Libby’s Kyle Leir 7-4.

In an all-Greater Spokane League championship match at 160 pounds, Mead’s Chandler Rogers beat CV’s Tanner Davis 8-3.

Jordan Rogers earned the Panthers’ third individual title after pinning Coeur d’Alene’s Garrett Demers in 5 minutes at 189 pounds.

University had two second-place finishers. The Titans’ Ryan Gabel fell 6-1 to Great Falls’ Josh Morin at 135 pounds and University’s Adrian Orndorff loss 4-0 to Havre’s Eli Hinebauch in the championship match at 152 pounds.

In a matchup between locals in the 130-pound finale, Bonners Ferry’s Blaine Invernon edged Central Valley’s Colton Orrino 5-3.

The Panthers’ Sam Voigtlaender came close to a title at 171 pounds, but fell to Flathead’s Larry Francis 6-5.
