Some Spokane school buses to run late tomorrow

Spokane Public Schools’ buses for elementary and middle schools will be late Friday, but school is starting at the regular time. Middle school buses will be 30 minutes late and elementary will be delayed an hour, said Terren Roloff, district spokeswoman. High school buses will run on time. “Because buses were late on Thursday morning, and because we didn’t want students standing outside waiting and getting cold tomorrow morning, we thought it would be good to announce the delay,” Roloff said. That way, parents can make any necessary plans for their children. Only 7,000 of the district’s 28,000 enrolled students ride the bus, Roloff said. Students who ride the bus will miss some class time, but they won’t be penalized. “Please have your students dress really warmly for waiting for the bus as well as for walking to school,” Roloff said.
