Coming up: Washington State Cougars

RECORD: 9-8 overall, 1-4 Pac-12

COMING UP: Tonight vs. Stanford, 7:05; Saturday vs. California, 3:05

OUTLOOK: The Cardinal (15-3, 5-1) have emerged as a surprise leader of the Pac-12, tied with California (15-4, 5-1) for first place. Stanford has achieved its record through a dedication to defense and rebounding – it leads the Pac-12 in rebounding margin and is second in offensive rebound percentage. Stanford is led by a trio of scorers – senior forward Josh Owens (12.7 ppg), sophomore point guard and Aaron Bright (12.3) and freshman guard Chasson Randle (12.2). Cal has won five of six, but Wednesday announced that leading rebounder Richard Solomon is academically ineligible. Allen Crabbe (15.7 ppg) and Jorge Gutierrez (14.3) pace Cal.
