Get educated on levies

Thank you Jody Lawrence-Turner for the Jan. 9 article about school levies. It is so important that people understand that, for Mead School District, it is a replacement levy. There are many programs the (state) government does not fund for schools. As the article stated, levies pay for basic expenditures like salaries, but also athletics for the younger kids, and reading and math specialists.

It really is a long list of programs that could not be offered. We need to support our kids where the government does not. Please vote to fill the gap; vote for the school levies. Mead School District’s levy vote is Feb. 14.
