Thriving Before, During and After Breast Cancer – The Breast Cancer Introduction Course is a three part series of classes that focus on breast cancer prevention, education, and survivorship support. Child Birth Education Classes – Prenatal class is a free one-time class for those trying to conceive or in their first trimester. Class is held noon-1 p.m. the second Monday of each month and 5-6 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month. Reservations are requested. Free and open to the public. Parenting Children of Divorce – Learn how divorce or separation affect children at different developmental stages, how to create a supportive climate for children reducing the affects of damaging conflict and gain communication skills to help handle conflict. Prepared Child Birth Classes – Six-week, 12-hour course is for those already pregnant and covers topics including prenatal care, nutrition, stages of labor, pain management, breathing, Cesarean birth, post-delivery care, infant CPR, newborn care and lactation. Classes are held 7-9 p.m. on Mondays or Tuesdays, or in a condensed eight-hour format on select Saturdays. Cost is $60 per person/couple, preregistration is required. Free Developmental Screenings – For infants and toddlers under age 3 living in Spokane County. Screenings include: language, physical strength and coordination, vision, hearing, feeding and behavior.
