Rally around students

I’m very lucky. As a businessman, parent and volunteer, I get to watch the wonderful teachers and innovative programs at work in the Mead School District. Both the teachers and students are eager to hear from and partner with local businesses to better understand what’s going on in the real world. I appreciate that their curriculum is relevant, their standards are high and they care about producing young adults who will enter the workforce wanting to make a contribution.

I guess that’s why it’s been easy for me to get alongside them and give my time to help further guide and inspire these students. With the Mead School District levy approaching, I hope others in the district are aware of all the great things happening at our schools and the importance of community support to keep them going.

Let’s face it: In these times we can’t expect the government to do it all. Frankly, I think it’s more meaningful when we do it. Let’s rally around our kids and our community and show them they’re worthy of our investment.
