Spokane Police busy overnight

Spokane Police were busy Saturday night and this morning investigating an attempted murder, a double shooting, a man accused of voyeurism at Girl Scouts of America and a hit-and-run crash that sent two people to the hospital with multiple injuries. 10:10 p.m. Saturday: Police rushed to a domestic violence call in the area of 800 W. York. “When officers arrived they could hear a female screaming inside,” said Officer Dan Waters. “As officers made entry into the house they could clearly hear the sound of a round being chambered in a firearm.” Police found the man and a woman in the upstairs bedroom of a home where the man was armed with a 9mm, police said. Corey A. Holten, 42, was arrested on charges of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree burglary and felony violation of a no contact order. Holten had been served a no contact order earlier in the day regarding the woman at the residence. 11:19 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of a prowler at Girl Scouts of America, 1404 N. Ash, where there was a late night gathering. The man fled when police arrived and tried to talk to him, said Officer Dan Waters. The man, identified as 29-year-old Martin J. Green, was found hiding under a car. Green was charged with second-degree burglary and voyeurism, Waters said. 1:02 a.m. Sunday: Police responded to Everett and Standard to investigate a felony hit and run collision where the passenger of the victim vehicle had to be cut out of the car by firefighters. The driver and the passenger were taken to the hospital and are being treated for multiple injuries including broken bones, said Officer Dan Waters. “The injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this point.” The suspect in the hit-and-run initially fled the scene on foot, but police believe he may have called someone to come pick him up, police said. Evidence was recovered from the scene, and the investigation is continuing, Waters said. 1:40 a.m.: Two men were shot in their lower legs near Second and Cedar, police said. The victims told police that there was a fight at a nearby restaurant and that someone inside a white van fired a gun, said Sgt. Kevin King. The men were taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police said. After broadcasting a description of the van, police located it at Division and Buckeye. “The occupants stated that they had been in an argument with some other people at the restaurant, but denied shooting anyone,” King said. “None of the witnesses were able to identify anyone in the van, so the occupants were released after being identified. The van was seized.”
