1. A. In a 4-1 decision, the Idaho Supreme Court agreed with a challenge that the plan splits more counties than necessary and sent it back to the commission.

2. E. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker could face recall as his opponents submitted almost twice as many signatures as they needed to put the question on the ballot.

3. D. Based on a core sample taken in 1946, the Senator was estimated to be about 3,500 years old.

4. C. The Costa Concordia sank in shallow water off Giglio, an island off the Italian region of Tuscany.

5. E. Researchers on a Galapagos island found DNA evidence of the giant tortoise Darwin studied and the basis for the island chain’s name – galapago is Spanish for tortoise – that helped him form his theory of evolution. The species was thought to be extinct.
