Obituary: Cochran, Betty

Betty Cochran

1924 - 2011

On February 28, 2011 we lost our beloved mother and our father lost his best friend and the love of his love for 67 1/2 years.

“Betty” was the youngest of 10 children born to pioneers Charles and LoDema Carr of Clayton, WA, on July 4, 1924.

All of her siblings have
preceded her in death.

Mom always kept family as her top priority and was a great wife, mother, grandmother as well as friend.

She was always ready to jump in the RV and set out on a new adventure with Dad stopping at every garage sale on the way.

Mom was a great joy to whoever’s life she touched.

Mom, we all love and miss you always.

Jim Cochran

1920 - 2012

On January 3, 2012 our Dad, Hero and Rock went to be with our Mom and the love of his life.

Dad “Jimmie,” “Bud,” was the second of 10 children born to Everette and Dora Cochran in Paden City, WV, on August 17, 1920.

He was on a Naval destroyer in WWII which pulled into Pearl Harbor one day after the attack.

He was very proud of the Navy and received many medals and stars before his honorable discharge in 1946.

He was truly a big part of the greatest generation.

Dad was always quick to lend a helping hand and his knowledge.

He could fix, build or mend anything his hands touched.

Dad’s biggest passion after family, was Nascar races as well as his long career in semi-truck driving.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, of 67 1/2 years.

Jim has four surviving sisters and two brothers.

Dad, we love and miss you always.

They are survived by their children, Sandi Hefferman (Jim) of Spokane, Ron Cochran at the home, Danna Tilton (Allen) of Otis Orchards, WA; as well as five grandchildren and seven great-grand-children.

There will be a joint memorial gathering at E. 3114 30th Avenue, on January 28th, 2012 at 2:00 pm.

Please bring your memories to share.
