HILLE, Violetta June

Violetta June Hille’s journey ended on January 21st at Deaconess Hospital, Spokane, WA.

She was born on March 29th, 1925 to David and Lydia Carolina Dirks in Ritzville, WA.

Violetta graduated from Ritzville High School and met the handsome Alvin “Joe” Hille at a dance in Ritzville, WA., she was courted by him until they married on September 24th, 1944.

Alvin served in the U.S. Army during World War II from December of 1944 to November 1947, while his beautiful bride was home praying for his safe return.

Their wonderful dance continued for more than 58 years until Alvin’s passing in 2002.

Her life was her family and farm near Washtucna where together with her husband they grew wheat and raised their five children, retiring in 1990.

They enjoyed their many grandchildren and great grandchildren who treasured time spent with them on the farm.

Violetta affectionately became known to all as “Granny”.

Violetta was preceded in death by her loving husband Alvin, a son TJ Dirks, and a brother Harley Dirks.

Surviving is her daughter Lannette Wavada (Chris) of Cheney; three sons Dennis Hille (Chris) of Washtucna; Alan Hille (Toni) of Kahlotus; and Lon Hille of Washtucna; a sister Davida Hille of Washtucna; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 13 nieces and nephews; and many other cherished family and friends.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be held at the Washtucna Community Church on Saturday January 28th at 12:00 pm and followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM; with Pastor Dennis Evans officiating.

Burial will follow at the Washtucna Pioneer Memorial Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to DANEKAS FUNERAL HOME, Ritzville, WA .

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to: Ruby June Hauf Medical Fund; U.S. Bank, 101 E. Main, Ritzville, WA 99169, or any U.S. Bank Branch, or charity of your choice.

Ruby June is the seven month old granddaughter of Shelly and Lowell Guske who is recovering from cancer.
