Of Post Falls, ID, passed away January 19, 2012 at her home with the love of her life by her side.

She was born on April 21, 1947 in Spokane, WA to Joseph Carmon and Arlene Belle (Bald) Ferraro.


Shirley lived in the area her whole life and attended Rogers High School.

After meeting her husband, Larry, and then marrying him, she moved to Post Falls.

It would be 40 years this June that she and Larry had been married.

She was always a joy to be around.

Life was precious to her and loved every minute she had and that feeling radiated from her, allowing others to recognize.

Shirley really loved those around her and was so proud of her family.


Shirley was very involved in her Democratic duties.

She served as Co-chair in the Kootenai County Democratic Women’s caucus for nine years and served on the Kootenai County Central Committee as a Precinct Chair for six years.

She was also a Board member of the Windsong HOA.

She also enjoyed her time working as an instructor with the Developmentally Disabled children.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Larry Kenck of Post Falls, her sons, John Hutchens of Spokane, WA and Larry Jr. and Jennifer Kenck of Havre, MT, her sister, Darlene and Buck Dietzel, sister-in-law, Nancy MacClanathan and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Arlene Ferraro.
Services will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Bell Tower Funeral Home in Post Falls, 3398 E. Jenalan Avenue at 2pm with a refreshment gathering immediately following.
