In brief: Teens taken into custody after Valley Mall stabbing

A teenage girl stabbed another girl in the leg during a fight at the Spokane Valley Mall on Saturday, according to Spokane Valley police.

The suspect fled the scene, KHQ-TV reported, and tried to elude police. She was eventually located and taken into custody. A boy who fled with the suspect was also taken into custody.

The 14-year-old victim was taken to a hospital and her condition was unknown.

Police search for boy last seen on North Side

Police are searching for an 11-year-old boy who they say ran away from home Saturday morning.

The boy’s name is Everette D. Alonge. He was last seen in Spokane at Kiernan Avenue and Madison Street at 8 a.m. Saturday. He is white with brown hair and hazel eyes.

He was last seen wearing black skinny jeans and has a black foot cast.

Police ask that if he is located to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233 or 911.

Woman arrested after report of body in road

A man was severely injured by a car and a woman was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault Saturday morning.

Just after 2 a.m., Spokane police responded to a report of a body in the road at Providence Avenue and Market Street and found an unconscious but breathing man, according to a police press release. The man appeared to have been hit by a car and was taken to a hospital with severe but non-life-threatening injuries to his head and pelvis.

Shortly afterward, Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputy Gavin Pratt stopped a speeding vehicle at Hawthorne Road and Market. Dispatch informed Pratt about the pedestrian-involved accident after Pratt noticed the car he stopped appeared to have been in an accident.

The car’s driver, Hannah K. Hahn, 21, was booked into Spokane County Jail on suspicion of vehicular assault.
