No. 11 Whitworth corrals Pioneers

Four Whitworth players scored in double figures as the hot-shooting Pirates rolled past Lewis & Clark College 79-59 on Saturday in a Northwest Conference game at the Pamplin Sports Center in Portland.

Felix Friedt had a team-high 20 points and eight rebounds.

Idris Lasisi added 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the 11th-ranked Pirates.

Whitworth shot 30 of 45 from the field, including 13 of 21 from behind the 3-point line.

The Pirates (16-3, 9-1) outscored the Pioneers (10-9, 5-5) by 18 points in the second half.

Whitworth hosts Puget Sound on Friday and Pacific Lutheran on Saturday.

CC Spokane 82, Columbia Basin 79: Tyler Edwards led four players in double figures with 18 points as the Sasquatch got out to a quick start and held on to beat the Hawks in an NWAACC game in Pasco.

Columbia Basin (6-11, 2-4), down by 18 points at halftime, closed the gap in the second half but couldn’t complete the comeback.

Brady Bagby scored 16 points, Luke Evans had 14 and Preston Wynne chipped in 12 for CCS.

The Sasquatch (15-3, 4-1) host Big Bend at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Snow 81, North Idaho 78: Travis Wilkins hit six 3-pointers and finished with 28 points as the Badgers edged the Cardinals in a Scenic West Athletic Conference contest in Ephraim, Utah.

Snow (16-6, 3-4) connected on 15 3-pointers.

Antoine Hosley tallied a game-high 29 points on 11-of-18 shooting and Keon Lewis added 21 points for NIC.

The Cardinals (18-4, 4-3) play at Southern Idaho on Saturday.
