A pizza delivery man was robbed Sunday night of four of the five pizzas he was delivering in North Spokane.

Police believe that one of the robbers was a 15-year-old girl. They are still trying to determine the identity of the knife-wielding man she was with, news release from the Spokane Police Department said.

The Dominoes Pizza employee told police that when he arrived around 7 p.m. to deliver pizzas on the 1200 block of North Oak Street, a man with a knife demanded the pizzas. The man was accompanied by a young woman.

The man with the knife made slashing motions toward the delivery man, the release said. The robbers took four of the five pizzas and fled to the northwest. Witnesses told police they ran into a nearby apartment complex, which police searched unsuccessfully.

Following an investigation, Officer Elina Bishop discovered the name of the female robber. Police have probable cause to charge the 15-year-old girl with first-degree robbery when she is located, the release said.

Anyone with information should call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233 and use Incident No. 12-028999.

    I wouldn’t risk imprisonment for 4 Dominos pizzas…

…..and just how did they determine the female’s name?

rpmarp, I wondered the exact same thing…fairly thin information, other than the article stating that an “investigation” lead to the discovery of her identity.

I also wondered why the robbers only demanded pizza? Didn’t the delivery person also have a cash bag?

At any rate, I am glad that no one was hurt.

What was the flavor of the pizza that the robbers didn’t want?

Turns out that the “investigation” involved calling the cell phone number used to order the pizzas; the phone belonged to the fifteen year old girl.

Most pizza places have a policy of non disclosure if you are robbed. It is one thing to say you were robbed of some pizzas, quite another to say the thief got cash. This is to discourage would be robbers should one get lucky.

Beyond the non-disclosure policy, most stores also have a policy that drivers not leave the store with more than $20. Of the several companies I have worked for they would only reimburse $20 plus whatever you might have collected.

So at best these theives should have gotten $20 and 4 pizzas. Certainly not enough to warrant whatever punishment they recieve.
