McDonnell leaves Idaho for Tulane

College football: John McDonnell has left his position as offensive line coach at Idaho to coach the line at Tulane.

McDonnell, a Gonzaga Prep grad and former assistant at Washington State, coached at Idaho just one season.

McDonnell will be part of Curtis Johnson’s start for the Green Wave. Johnson, a former Idaho Vandal wide receiver, was named head coach in December.

Other local ties to Johnson’s staff include offensive coordinator Eric Price, who was the quarterbacks coach at WSU from 1998-2000. He is the oldest son of former WSU coach Mike Price.

Idaho has not announced a replacement for McDonnell.
