Uher’s four goals power Spokane past Seattle

KENT, Wash. – Dominik Uher scored four goals, including the winner with 1 minute, 12 seconds left in the third period, to give the Spokane Chiefs a 5-3 Western Hockey League victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds on Tuesday. Brenden Kichton also scored for the Chiefs (28-14-4-3, 63 points), who have won six of their past seven games. Spokane netminder Eric Williams made 19 saves as the Chiefs outshot the Thunderbirds 39-22. Uher scored in each of the first two periods but was matched by Seattle, and the game was tied at 2 going into the third period. Kichton’s 11th goal of the season, at 12:07 of the third, gave the Chiefs a 3-2 lead. The T-Birds tied the game at 3 about three minutes later before Uher scored the final two goals of the game – the winner at 18:48 and an empty-netter at 19:51. He has 20 goals this season. The Chiefs play at first-place Kamloops tonight at 7. The Blazers have won eight of their past 10 games.
