Homecoming week

Two women with Spokane ties will be at Auntie’s Bookstore this week.

• J. Anderson Coats, who was born in Spokane and graduated from North Central High School, will be at the store at 2 p.m. Saturday. She’ll be talking about “The Wicked and the Just,” her young adult novel set in 1293 in North Wales.

With Anderson Coats will be two other Washington authors. Megan Bostic, of Tacoma, will talk about her young adult novel “Never Eighteen.” Jennifer Shaw Wolf, of Lacey, brings her young adult novel “Breaking Beautiful.”

• Ferris High School graduate Rachel Singer Gordon will visit from Chicago to sign copies of “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Couponing.” She’ll be at Auntie’s at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Also at Auntie’s, Spokane geologist Bob Weldin will talk about “The Dry Diggin’s Club” at 7 p.m. Friday. His novel tells the story of Sara Mullins, a woman who has earned her mining credentials and is struggling to break into the traditionally male field in a sparsely populated corner of the Northwest just after World War II.

Auntie’s is at 402 W. Main Ave. For more information about these events, visit www.auntiesbooks.com or call (509) 838-0206.
