Be wary of institutions

Protect the institution at all costs, regardless of the charges. It makes no difference if we are talking about Jerry Sandusky, priests in the Catholic Church, corruption on Wall Street, etc. We have trusted our most cherished institutions for so long that we have lost sight of what is important in life.

When the verdict was read in the Sandusky trial, he was stunned and couldn’t believe it, which makes perfect sense. People like that are out of touch with reality, and in complete denial that they did anything wrong. There will be more cases of exploitation and abuse of power in the halls of our most treasured and respected institutions.
